Black Lives Matter Cashes in From Liberal Foundations

As Black Lives Matter appears to be a grass roots, street based group, it has highly influential supporters with deep pockets. In 2016 The Washington Times reported on the millions of dollars in funding flooding into the organization:

Black Lives Matter has seen more than $100 million from liberal foundations and donations.

The Ford Foundation and Borealis Philanthropy recently announced the formation of the Black-Led Movement Fund [BLMF].  The $100 million fund is in addition to $33 million funding from George Soros.

“The BLMF provides grants, movement building resources, and technical assistance to organizations working advance the leadership and vision of young, Black, queer, feminists and immigrant leaders who are shaping and leading a national conversation about criminalization, policing and race in America,” said the Borealis announcement.

However, the foundation has also aligned itself with the staunch far-left group Movement for Black Lives. The group has called Israel an “apartheid state” guilty of “genocide.”

Their goals include defunding police departments, race-based reparations, voting rights for illegal immigrants, fossil-fuel divestment, an end to private education and charter schools, a “universal basic income,” and free college for blacks.

Beijing Tightens its Grip of Power on Hong Kong

Tensions have been running high within the Hong Kong legislature. A fight broke out over the election of a pro-Beijing chair for the committee. Pro-democracy lawmakers were forceably removed from the legislature.

Under the “one country, two systems” framework, Hong Kong has been allowed to exist as a semi-autonomous region. However, that framework is now up for review. And Beijing are making moves to tighten control of the region.

Furthermore, Pro-democracy activists have also called Hong Kong residents to take to the streets to protest Beijing’s plans to impose new and tighter security restrictions on the region.

Activists fear this new legislation will further erode the freedom and democratic nature of Hong Kong.

China’s decision to impose the legislation hit the  Hong Kong stock market and prompted Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to condemn the move, saying, “The decision to bypass Hong Kong’s well-established legislative processes and ignore the will of the people of Hong Kong would be a death knell for the high degree of autonomy Beijing promised.”

CIA Believe China Pressurised WHO to Downplay Coronavirus Outbreak

A CIA report has stated it believes China threatened the WHO to downplay the Coronavirus outbreak. They say that in the crucial weeks, in mid-January, when the Coronavirus began to spread across the globe, China threatened the WHO, saying they would not cooperate in any investigations into Coronavirus. In the meantime China were stockpiling medical supplies, including PPE, some of which manufactured in the US.

The report has not been published. However, the contents of report, entitled ‘U.N.-China: WHO Mindful But Not Beholden to China,’ were confirmed to Newsweek by two U.S. intelligence officials.

The German intelligence agency have also accused the Chinese leader Xi Jinping of personally pressurising WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

The German Federal Intelligence Service ‘Bundesnachrichtendienst’ BND said: ‘On January 21, China’s leader Xi Jinping asked WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to hold back information about a human-to-human transmission and to delay a pandemic warning.

‘The BND estimates that China’s information policy lost four to six weeks to fight the virus worldwide’.

The World Health Organization declared a Public Health Emergency of International importance on January 30th.

US Navy Sends Warships to Barents Sea for First Time Since Cold War

The US Navy has sent four warships to the Barents Sea, off the coast of Russia, for the first time since the Cold War. The warships were joined by one warship from the British Navy.  The Navy has said the warships are there to ‘conduct maritime security operations’.

Russia was notified to the operations on May 1st, ‘in an effort to avoid misperceptions, reduce risk, and prevent inadvertent escalation’ a US Navy spokesperson said.

The US-British naval presence in the region comes at a time when Russia is pushing ahead with a huge military build up in the Artic.

The Arctic region is rich in hydrocarbon reserves, and as the sea ice melts Russia hopes to capitalise on the opportunity.

‘In these challenging times, it is more important than ever that we maintain our steady drumbeat of operations across the European theater, while taking prudent measures to protect the health of our force,’ said Vice Adm. Lisa Franchetti, commander, U.S. 6th Fleet.

‘We remain committed to promoting regional security and stability, while building trust and reinforcing a foundation of Arctic readiness.’

‘Paid for the damn virus that’s killing us’: Giuliani Attacks Fauci Over Grant to Lab in Wuhan

Rudy Giuliani questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci’s involvement in grants that the U.S. made to the lab in Wuhan, China, which has been linked to the Coronavirus outbreak.

There is growing evidence that points the finger to the laboratory as the source of the deadly outbreak. Giuliani has made his comments during an interview.  He also called on a full investigation to be made into the Wuhan investigation.

“Back in 2014, the Obama administration prohibited the U.S. from giving any money to any laboratory, including in the U.S., that was fooling around with these viruses. Prohibited! Despite that, Dr. Fauci gave $3.7 million to the Wuhan laboratory — and then even after the State Department issued reports about how unsafe that laboratory was, and how suspicious they were in the way they were developing a virus that could be transmitted to humans,” he claimed.

He added, “We never pulled that money. So, something here is going on, John. I don’t want to make any accusations. But there was more knowledge about what was going on in China with our scientific people than they disclosed to us when this first came out. Just think of it: If this laboratory turns out to be the place where the virus came from, we paid for it. We paid for the damn virus that’s killing us.

Dr Fauci has been the director for  the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984.

Harvard Professor Calls Homeschooling “Dangerous” and Causes “White Supremacy”

Prof.  Elizabeth Bartholet a law professor at Harvard has called for a “presumptive ban” on homeschooling saying it is “dangerous”.

“The issue is, do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control over their children from ages zero to 18?” Bartholet asked. “I think that’s dangerous. I think it’s always dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless, and to give the powerful ones total authority.”

Batholet also went on to argue that homeschooling was a “ticking bomb”, a breeding ground for white supremacy. She argued that the removal from the public school system was against the human rights of the child and a threat to democracy.

“Many homeschool precisely because they want to isolate their children from ideas and values central to public education and to our democracy. Many promote racial segregation and female subservience. Many question science. Many are determined to keep their children from exposure to views that might enable autonomous choice about their future lives,” she claims.

She is also concerned about the majority of homeschooling families being religious.

“[S]urveys of homeschoolers show that a majority of such families (by some estimates, up to 90 percent) are driven by conservative Christian beliefs, and seek to remove their children from mainstream culture,” Harvard Magazine warns. “Bartholet notes that some of these parents are ‘extreme religious ideologues’ who question science and promote female subservience and white supremacy.”

Her essay fails to consider the many studies into the educational and social benefit of homeschooling. And provides no proof that homeschooling leads to an increased risk of child abuse, racism or white supremacy.

Apple and Google Unite to Contact Trace Covid-19

The big tech giants Apple and Google are teaming up to help develop technology to contact users if they have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19.

Initially they hope to work with third party apps.

However, they hope the need for users to download an app will not be needed as users will be encouraged to have such a feature as standard.

They hope to use bluetooth technology to trace who a person has been in contact with, how close and for how long. This data would then determine the risk that a person could have contracted the virus.

However, many are alarmed at the privacy concerns us technology poses.

“Privacy, transparency and consent are of utmost importance in this effort and we look forward to building this functionality in consultation with interested stakeholders,” Apple and Google said in a joint statement.

“We will openly publish information about our work for others to analyse.”

President Trump said his administration needed time to consider the development.

“It’s very interesting, but a lot of people worry about it in terms of a person’s freedom,” he said during a White House press conference.

“We’re going to take… a very strong long at it, and we’ll let you know pretty soon.”

Switzerland Halts 5G Rollout Indefinitely Over Health Fears

Switzerland announced that it is halting the roll out of their 5G program indefinitely over health concerns. The European nation has one of the most advanced 5G networks in Europe with 2,000 antennas already in place to upgrade their network.

Other countries across Europe are scrambling to upgrade their networks to 5G, against the backdrop of the US and China wrangling over the use of Huawei technology. Most of Europe’s 5G infrastructure relies on Huawei technology, however the US has said this is a major security risk.

The Swiss environment agency, Bafu, who issues licences for the building of the antennae has said, it cannot yet provide universal criteria without further testing of the impact of 5G radiation.

The agency said it was “not aware of any standard worldwide” that could be used to benchmark recommendations. “Therefore Bafu will examine exposure through adaptive [5G] antennas in depth, if possible in real-world operational conditions. This work will take some time,” it said.

The Swiss Medical Association has argued that caution should be taken in the implementation of 5G technology as not enough testing has been conducted to show the affects of the radiation on the nervous system or on the risk of cancer.

China Appointed to the U.N. Human Rights Council

China has this week been appointed to the U.N. Human Rights Council. The appointment means that China will be part of the body that decides who investigates abuses in human rights.

This is despite a catalogue of human rights abuses by the Chinese authorities. And at a time when the  Chinese is showing itself to be more authoritarian.

Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, which monitors the UN Human Rights Council and has championed the rights of victims in China, stated, “Allowing China’s oppressive and inhumane regime to choose the world investigators on freedom of speech, arbitrary detention and enforced disappearances is like making a pyromaniac into the town fire chief. It’s absurd and immoral for the UN to allow China’s oppressive government a key role in selecting officials who shape international human rights standards and report on violations worldwide.”

George Soros Groups Pushing Mail In Voting Systems

George Soros and groups supported by him are pushing for more mail-in voting the coming elections. Democrats tied to have mail in voting promoted in their Coronavirus Bill. However this, and other proposals were rejected by the President.

“The things they had in there were crazy,” Trump said. “They had things – levels of voting that, if you ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.”

Republicans have long rejected the moved to more mail in voting, as it is harder to authenticate making it more susceptible to voter fraud.
