White House Surveillance Program Allows Snooping Of All Americans Phone And Social Media Records

A Wired investigation has revealed a secret White House surveillance program that permits federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to access an extensive array of U.S. phone records. Known as Data Analytical Services (DAS), this program functions in partnership with telecom giant AT&T, offering a comprehensive analysis of American call records to law enforcement agencies at all levels of government. This deal not only involves direct phone contacts of criminal suspects but extends to their social networks as well, snooping on individuals who have not been suspected of any criminal activity at all.

Pelosi: Spirits talking to me in the White House

To much applause, San Francisco based Democrat Nancy Pelosi describes the spirits who are with her, and relates the relief they had at gaining access in the government.   She described the encounter when she first became part of the democratic leadership.

Pelosi has described this spiritual encounter more than once, most recently at a gathering of the Women’s Political Committee.  On another occasion at the Trinity Washington University’.

Pelosi feels that there is more than one spirit that is with her and feels like they are Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul.

Coincidentally, Pelosi also happens to be an ardent supporter of Buddhism, and openly supports the head of the Tibetan Buddhists, the Dalai Lama, who Buddhists believe is the 14th reincarnation of the first Dalai Lama.  The Dalai Lama preached from the lawns of the Capitol Building in Washington DC in his recent visit to the USA, gaining access to many senior government politicians, and those in the White House.

Obama Ad Accuses Romney of ‘Launching a False Attack’ for Quoting Obama

Obama’s campaign to get re-elected is accusing Mitt Romney of “launching a false attack” and in doing so, placing an image of untruthfulness or falseness over Romney.

However, according to the official White House transcript, Romney is correct in his statements.

Romney’s ad states “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.”  This matches the White House transcript, dated July 13, 2012 from Obama’s speech in Roanoke, Virginia.

White House: Its a penalty, Supreme Court: Its a tax

Penalty, tax, penalty.

The Supreme Court Justices argued the fine/penalty is legal under Congress’ authority to tax and that the ‘obamacare’ bill is therefore legal as a tax.

Jay Carney, the White House Press Secretary reiterated on Friday that the fine is still a “penalty”.

The tax label was fought vigorously by Obama in 2009 when promoting the ‘ObamaCare’ bill.

Fighting in the White House

During a furious row in the White House attorney general Eric Holder and top Obama political adviser, David Axelrod, “had to be separated” after squaring up to each other.

David Axelrod had accused Eric Holder of being piblically annoyed at political interference in the justice department, headed up by Holder.

It is alleged that Mr Axelrod told the attorney general: “Don’t ever, ever accuse me of trying to interfere with the operations of the Justice Department”, a taboo in US politics.

How Many Trade Deals Has Obama Negotiated?

To date President Obama has failed to negotiate any free trade deals, despite his “commitment” to job creation. Free Trade Deals are an important way of creating jobs and helping the economy.

Whilst in office, George W Bush, negotiated 11 free trade deals; and Bill Clinton 5.

However, Obama has actually hindered deals negotiated by Bush (deals with Columbia and South Korea). These deals were not ratified by Congress until 2011.

Trade Unions oppose Free Trade deals, because they open up American markets.

Obama Meets With the Dalai Lama in the White House

The following article was taken from the BBC website:

US President Barack Obama has held private talks with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, despite strong criticism from China.

Mr Obama told the Dalai Lama of his “strong support” for human rights in Tibet, a White House statement said.

Beijing released an angry statement saying the meeting had damaged relations between the two countries.

Mr Obama’s last meeting with the Dalai Lama in February 2010 also drew strong condemnation from Beijing.

The talks – which lasted about 45 minutes – were held in the Map Room rather than the Oval Office, which is traditionally reserved for visiting heads of state.

“The president reiterated his strong support for the preservation of the unique religious, cultural and linguistic traditions of Tibet and the Tibetan people throughout the world,” the White House statement said.

“He underscored the importance of the protection of human rights of Tibetans in China.”

Mr Obama also reiterated that the US considers Tibet to be part of China, and said that he encouraged “direct dialogue to resolve long-standing differences”.

The closed-door meeting came just hours before the Dalai Lama was scheduled to leave Washington at the end of an 11-day Buddhist ritual.

China had earlier warned the US not to receive the Dalai Lama.

“Such an act has grossly interfered in China’s internal affairs, hurt the feelings of Chinese people and damaged the Sino-American relations,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said in a written statement following the meeting.

“We demand the US side to seriously consider China’s stance, immediately adopt measures to wipe out the baneful impact, stop interfering in China’s internal affairs and cease to connive and support anti-China separatist forces that seek ‘Tibet independence’,” Mr Ma said.

The White House has not commented on Beijing’s displeasure.

The Chinese authorities have long vilified the Dalai Lama as a “splittist”, although he has repeatedly stated that his goal is for meaningful Tibetan autonomy rather than independence.
