WILL THE WORLD END DECEMBER 21ST?

View France in a larger map

Speculation continues as Bugarach and Rennes-Les-Chateau expect 100’s of visitors this December.

Rennes-Les-Chateau is the site of the Da Vinci code mystery, stories of the Holy Grail, Mary Magdalene and has connections with ancient Israel through the Priory of Zion.

Bugarach – site of UFO’s, occult rituals, stories and myth.

Authorities are concerned that the rituals may turn into mass suicides, as vulnerable people get caught up in the myths and legends of the area, which have circulated across the internet over the last 3 years in expectation of the “end of the world” as the current Mayan calendar ends.

Authorities are monitoring the area with extra Police drafted in and the “magic mountain” peak closed off for 4 days from visitors.

UFOS SPOTTED OVER SAN FRANCISCO, BROOKLYN

The Mayan apocalypse believed by some to be taking place on Dec. 21, 2012, has apparently been preceded by multiple sightings of UFOs hovering over major U.S. cities. In the past week, San Francisco and Brooklyn were both treated to the sight of mysterious illuminated objects floating in the sky.

On Dec. 3, in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, an amateur video captured a slow-moving parade of lights overhead. The trio of lights appeared to move in a coordinated fashion, slowing down and then moving again in roughly the same direction and at the same speed.

A similarly choreographed ballet of lights, reported by some as a UFO sighting, danced over the Mission district of San Francisco in the wee hours of Dec. 9. As in the Brooklyn sighting, the lights seemed to hover calmly above the city, then slowly drift away in unison, as seen in this amateur video .ufosoverSanFRan

At least one astronomer was stumped by the San Francisco sighting. “Its not a planet, its not a constellation, its not meteors, it’s not the moon,” Bing Quock, assistant director of the Morrison Planetarium at the California Academy of Sciences, told CBS San Francisco. “It looks to me like it could have been balloons, carrying lights.” [Infographic: Where to Spot UFOs]

BUGARACH, FRANCE – SURVIVING DECEMBER 2012 – ‘END OF THE WORLD’?

Bugarach - the place to be this December?

Bugarach – Surviving the ‘end of the world’ on upside-down mountain

Bugarach is a small village which lies at the foot of the ‘Pic de Bugarach’, the highest peak in the Corbieres Mountains, in south-west France, though the ‘pic de Bugarach’ is set apart from the other mountains as a whole and stands alone. It is also know as the ‘upside down mountain’ because the layers at the top of the mountain are older than the layers at the bottom.

It has become a world focal point for the 20 December 2012 ‘end of the world’ occultists who believe the Pic de Bugarach is the only place that will survive on earth, and is attracting many occult groups from around the world.

In the 1960’s ad 70’s the area was a favorite place of the Hippies, towards the end of the 20th century it became associated with the ‘New Age’ movement, as the mountain was believed to hold mystical powers, and rumors began to spread that Bugarach would be the only place to survive the apocalypse of 2012.

According to cult followers, the mountain houses extra-terrestrials who are willing to save any humans who want to leave planet earth with them.

In 2011, the french “Interministerial Mission for monitoring and combatting cultic deviances” (MIVLUDES), paid extra attention to the area over concerns about mass suicides.  MIVLUDES aim is to prevent ritualized deaths by doomsday cults such as the ‘Order of the Solar temple’ which lost members to ritualized killings in the Alps in 1995.

Preparations, which began in 2010, to cope with the mass influx of people to this small village with a population of less then 200, are still in progress, the towns Mayor Jean-Pierre Delord, when interviewed in 2010 said

“This is no laughing matter, if tomorrow 10,000 people turn up, as a village of 200 people, we will not be able to cope. I have informed the regional authorities, and want the army to be on hand if necessary come December 2012”

In response to the Masses of visitors to the area, the authorities recently decided to limit access to the peak from 19 December 2012 to 23 December 2012. In addition, there will be 100 policemen and firemen who will control access to the village.

The Internet has become awash with items from the village, including pebbles from the mountain sold as talismans, and online prayers for sale. The Mayor told the guardian in an interview in November 2012

“the Bugarach sign at the entrance to the village has been stolen for the third time…”

Upside down mountain

This Southern corner of France has seen a ‘cauldron of mystic fables and occult conspiracy theories’. The nearby village of Rennes-de-Chateau was described in the Cadogan guide as ‘the vortex of Da Vinci code madness’….. the village which is just a short distance away from Bugarach received over 100,000 visitors when Dan Brown’s the “Da Vinci Code” was at the height of it’s popularity.

Military drone mistaken for ‘UFO’ along DC highways

WASHINGTON – A saucer-shaped object on a very wide flatbed truck had some people wondering if the government was moving a UFO in or near Washington, D.C., Wednesday night. The truck came south on I-270, then took the inner loop of the Capital Beltway from Montgomery County into Prince George’s County. When motorists snapped photos of the strange object and posted them on Twitter, some people became concerned enough to call local police. One man called 911 in Prince George’s County because, he said, he was concerned about a relative who lived along the route. LISTEN: 9-1-1 call reporting “UFO” because it’s trending Twitter! Asked by a befuddled dispatcher what the object looked like, the caller replied hesitantly, “…ah… a UFO. I mean, I don’t really know. I don’t see too many UFO’s on a regular basis.” LINK: Photo gallery of “UFO” on DC Beltway Well, it turns out the mysterious object on the truck cruising around the Beltway is capable of flight. It’s an experimental, unmanned aircraft called an X-47B, according to Northrop Grumman spokesman Brooks McKinney. The company spokesman said the saucer-like shape of the aircraft is a deliberate effort to make it harder to detect. “[It’s] a shape that minimizes its refection of potential … enemy radar signals,” said McKinney, who also pointed out that the aircraft has no tail. The spacy-looking aircraft was being delivered to Patuxent Naval Air Station for testing. The manufacturer hopes that someday the government will purchase many of the drones so they can be stationed aboard U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. McKinney said the remotely-piloted aircraft can be used for surveillance or can be rigged to carry weapons. Two of the experimental aircraft are now in Maryland. Why not fly the drones from their previous base in California? McKinney said the FAA is not currently keen on unmanned transcontinental flights. You May Also Like…. Armageddon 2012?

For many the beginning of 2012 marks the start of an auspicious year. Many believe the world will end in December 2012.

This belief is rooted in ancient Mayan prophecy. The Mayan Calendar ends 21st December, and according to their traditions this marks the end of the age.

However, occult and New Age groups look to a small southern French town for their salvation. The town of Bugarach, is believed to be the only safe place to be in December 2012. New Age believers revere the town as having mystical power thinking it may have an underground UFO base, or be a gateway to an underground world.

For many this may sound ridiculous, but French authorities are taking this seriously as Bugarach is already seeing it’s small population rise, as they anticipate an influx of visitors hoping to escape apocalypse. Authorities also fear in the wake of December 21st cult groups,   many may enter mass suicide pacts, similar to Wacko.
