Fatal rush-hour shooting near Penn Station | New York Post

One man was killed and two others critically wounded during a rush-hour shooting near Penn Station on Monday morning, authorities said. The gunfire erupted at 6:14 a.m., just outside the turnstiles of the northeast entrance of the station at 35th Street and Eighth Avenue, police said. The shooter, who fired off four 9mm rounds, has not been captured, and fled north on Eighth with two accomplices in a silver vehicle, law enforcement sources said. Moments before the shooting, all three men were inside a McDonald’s at 490 Eighth Ave., when they were approached by a heavyset man in a black hooded sweatshirt, police said after reviewing surveillance footage. The man then followed the trio into the subway station, where he shot them, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce. The men were shot from behind and didn’t see their attacker coming, law enforcement sources said. The dead man, who was shot in the head, was identified as 43-year-old Angel Quinones. The two critically wounded men were taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, authorities said. William Lamboy, 45, was shot in the neck and abdomen, while Eddie Torres, 48, was hit in the leg, law enforcement sources said. All three victims were patients at a methadone clinic across the street that opened at 7 a.m., said law enforcement sources. The men have long rap sheets for drug busts in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx, police added. Lamboy could not speak to police due to his wounds, and Torres was not initially cooperative, sources said. A large sum of cash was found on one of the victims, so police are investigating this as a possible drug dispute or narcotics-related hit, law enforcement sources said.

EXCLUSIVE: Kenneth Copeland Lays Hands and Prays Over Donald Trump — Charisma News

Earlier this month, we reported how Paula White set up an invitation-only meeting between Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and evangelical pastors. That meeting happened this week—and plenty of Pentecostals were there to lay hands on the billionaire, make declarations over his life and pray. Beyond Paula White, also present were Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Jentezen Franklin, David Jeremiah, Jan Crouch, Steve Munsey, Jews for Jesus Rabbi Kirt Schneider, Bishop George Bloomer, Bishop Darrell Scott and Clarence McClendon. In this video, Kenneth Copeland is praying over Trump. “No man can be successful as president of the United States without Your wisdom. And so we ask You today to give this man Your wisdom, boldly. Make sure and certain that he hears. Manifest Yourself to him,” Copeland prayed. “And we thank You and praise You for a bold man, a strong man and an obedient man.”  JOIN JENNIFER ON FACEBOOK FOR SPIRITUAL COMMENTARY AND ENCOURAGMENT. CLICK HERE. As we have reported, Trump’s campaign is pulling out all the stops to woo Christian voters. He recently told a rally his favorite book is the Bible, but later refused to share his favorite verse.  “During the meeting, he talked about his Christian faith,” David Brody, CBN News chief political correspondent, wrote. “At one point he admitted that he may not have read the Bible as much as the pastors in the room. As the conversation continued, a few of the ministers implored Trump to tone down some of his harsh rhetoric. “As for additional subject matter, Trump told the religious leaders and pastors that he will be a strong supporter of Israel and that defeating ISIS would be a strong part of his agenda,” Brody continued. “He also discussed trade, balancing the budget, eliminating the deficit and tax reform.” Will Pentecostals back Trump? Should we? Jennifer LeClaire is senior editor of Charisma. Hurricane Joaquin beginning to look a lot like Sandy | New York Post

New Yorkers still haunted by the nightmare of Superstorm Sandy are bracing for the possibility of a hit from Hurricane Joaquin, which could sock the region with drenching rains, damaging winds and record coastal flooding. Despite the storm’s “cone of uncertainty” indicating an indefinite path on Wednesday, some forecasters were sounding the alarm. “I hate to compare anything to Sandy, but the setup isn’t all that different. I know a lot of things can get overhyped, but this, I actually think, may be underhyped,” Rob Reale a meteorologist at New Jersey’s WeatherWorks, told NJ.com. And Steven DiMartino, a meteorologist at NY NJ PA Weather, told the website, “People need to . . . start preparing for the worst. We have to watch this very carefully.” Others are taking a more measured approach. “I think the uncertainty with this is a little bit greater than you might normally expect from a tropical system like this,” John Feerick, a senior meteorologist with AccuWeather, told The Post, citing other weather patterns that could alter Joaquin’s course.

The United Lodge of Theosophists – Blavatsky Theosophy Group UK

The United Lodge of Theosophists – or ULT for short – is not a Theosophical Society and it is not the Theosophical Society. It is an entirely independent, unaffiliated, and voluntary association of students of Theosophy who wish to study the original teachings without the unnecessary elements of organisations, leaders, political conflicts, and attention seeking personalities. Its expressed mission statement is “To spread broadcast the original teachings of Theosophy as recorded in the writings of H.P. Blavatsky and William Q. Judge.” The ULT was founded in 1909 by Robert Crosbie, who had been a close colleague and associate of Mr Judge, and has since spread all around the world. It is in essence a School of Theosophy, with the only Teachers being HPB and WQJ, who were Founders together of the Theosophical Movement in 1875. Everyone in the ULT is a student; none are “teachers.” Theosophists meet together at ULT Lodges and Study Groups in order to study and apply in their lives the deep and profound spiritual teachings of the Great Soul who gave the esoteric philosophy of Theosophy to the world – H.P. Blavatsky. William Quan Judge was her trusted colleague and co-worker, who she referred to at the end of her life as her “only friend.” It is the original and genuine teachings of Theosophy that are upheld in the ULT; Theosophy as taught by HPB and her Indian Masters of the Trans-Himalayan Brotherhood, who stated that she was their “Direct Agent” and their “Brother.” It is the aim and purpose of the ULT to preserve and promote what HPB called “pure Theosophy,” free from the multitude of alterations, distortions, deceptions, and dilutions introduced by many later “teachers” after HPB and WQJ had departed from the physical plane. Since the ULT is not an “organisation” in the ordinary sense of the word, it does not have members or membership. But individuals who feel in harmony with the purposes and work of the Lodge may choose to become an “Associate” through signing what is known as the Associate’s Card, a simple act of outward observance of an inner commitment to the great Theosophical Cause. Nothing is expected or required of those who become Associates, nor does becoming an Associate confer any benefits or special privileges. The approach of the ULT is largely impersonal and anonymous. Its Associates and friends do not seek attention, fame, or reverence for themselves but wish to draw attention only to Theosophy itself, since they firmly believe that the answer to every question and solution to every problem is contained within those priceless teachings from the Ageless Wisdom of the East. First and foremost, the ULT seeks to fulfill the primary object for which the Theosophical Movement was founded – the actualisation of Universal Brotherhood, which is not merely a lofty ideal but is eternally a fact in Nature. This is the Oneness and Divineness of all life.

Dalai Lama says that any female successor would have to be ‘attractive’

The Dalai Lama has astonished his millions of followers by declaring that any female successor to his role will have to be “very attractive” to do the job. The Tibetan spiritual leader, a self-declared feminist, stunned a BBC interviewer by saying that were a woman to eventually take over his position, she would be unsuitable if she was ugly. “That female must be attractive, otherwise it is not much use,” he said. The ageing Buddhist monk made his remarks during a nine-day visit to London, where he is promoting the concepts of compassionate and considerate behaviour. However, his views on the qualifications for whoever eventually takes over his role may damage his standing among female followers. Interviewed by the veteran BBC television journalist Clive Myrie, he was asked first whether it was possible that a woman could take over his role in the first place. He confirmed enthusiastically that it was, and then said that in a previous interview years ago, he had told a French woman reporter that a woman Dalai Lama would be a good thing “in our troubled word”, as she would have “biologically more potential to show affection and compassion”. He then leaned forward to Myrie with a smile and added: “Then I told that reporter: ‘If it is a female, the face should be very attractive’.” Myrie retorted: “You are joking, I am assuming. Or you’re not joking?” The Dalai Lama then made it clear he was not. “It’s true,” he replied. Somewhat taken aback, Myrie then moved the conversation on, asking the Dalai Lama about his “role as a religious rock star”. The interview was broadcast on the BBC two days ago, but in an accompanying BBC website article that summarised the Dalai Lama’s remarks, his comments on women were not included. Instead, the summary referred to his comments urging European countries not to turn away refugees fleeing the Middle East, with a headline: “Do not reject refugees because they are Muslim.” The Dalai Lama, whose real name is Tenzin Gyatso, is now 80 years old. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, and is feted by activists and celebrities in the West for his advocacy of independence for Tibet and other causes. According to Tibetan Buddhist tradition, when he is aged around 90, he will make a decision in conjunction with other Buddhist leaders as to whether a successor – a “reincarnation” – should take on the role of being the 15th Dalai Lama. In an interview with The Telegraph two years ago in which he explained the succession process, he told in broken English how he would favour a woman taking on his role. “Female[s] have more potential to develop affection or love to other,” he said.

Kim Clement Undergoing Craniotomy to Remove Brain Bleed —

Kim Clement is still hospitalized. The prophetic voice was rushed the hospital with numbness on his right side on Monday. Doctors started treating him with medications to take down swelling after discovering a brain bleed. “The results of the angiogram today showed that Kim will need a craniotomy to remove the bleed on his brain. They will do that tomorrow,” reads the Facebook post. “We are asking that you all please continue to pray and stand strong in agreement with us that Kim will come through this and will have a supernatural recovery! The team and close leaders and friends will conduct a prayer gathering tomorrow at the Den in place of the usual Prophetic Workshop broadcast. Now is the time to fight and pray for our prophet as he has fought and prayed for all of us!” According to Clement’s website, his prophetic ministry reaches countless people as he reveals the heartbeat of God in tragedy and triumph, good times and bad, war and peace, in democratic or theocratic circles, crossing all cultural barriers by communicating God’s feelings for them. “Prophets were called to watch, which sometimes demanded unusual and difficult journeys,” he has said. “Isaiah was privy to the conversation of God, and heard them discussing the future of Israel. However, Elisha heard the plans of the enemy and revealed them to the king, placing himself in a very difficult position. I myself must also mount the watchtower.”

4 Marines dead after shooting rampage in Tennessee | New York Post

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire at two military facilities Thursday in Tennessee, killing at least four Marines, officials said. The suspect also was killed. A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation, told the Associated Press the death toll included the four U.S. Marines and the sole gunman believed responsible. Two others, a soldier and a police officer, were wounded, the official said. “Lives have been lost from some faithful people who have been serving our country, and I think I join all Tennesseans in being both sickened and saddened by this,” Gov. Bill Haslam said. The U.S. Navy said in a tweet that there was a shooting at a Navy recruiting building on Amnicola Highway in Chattanooga.
