Ukraine President Zelenskyy Alleges a Coup was Planned for Next week by Russia

The Ukrainian President has said they uncovered evidence that Russia was planning a coup against his government next week.

“We have challenges not only from the Russian Federation and possible escalation – we have big internal challenges. I received information that a coup d’etat will take place in our country on Dec. 1-2,” Zelenskyy said, adding that his country was prepared for any escalation, Reuters reported.

The Russian President, Putin, denied any involvement.

However, Zalenskyy warned earlier this month that 100,000 Russian troops were massing on their border.

Chinese Public Security Official Appointed to Interpol

A top Chinese Security official has been appointed to the executive committee of interpol. The move has been celebrated by the state backed Beijing media. However, the move was widely criticized over concerns that the position may be exploited by the Chinese authorities.

Hu Binchen, a Deputy Director General at China’s Ministry of Public Security, will join the committee after years of intense campaigning from Beijing to have him appointed.

However, it is widely believed that Hu has been heavily involved in Operation Fox Hunt, through which Beijing hunts down dissidents in foreign countries and forces them back to China.

“The government of the People’s Republic of China has repeatedly abused the Interpol red notice to persecute dissidents in exile,” said in a letter from the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), which has 50 signatories. “By electing Hu Binchen to the executive committee, the general assembly would be giving a green light to the [Chinese] government to continue their misuse of Interpol and would place the tens of thousands of Hongkonger, Uygur, Tibetan, Taiwanese and Chinese dissidents living abroad at even graver risk.”

Biden’s Health and Human Services Revoke Some Faith-Based Exemptions

Biden’s Health and Human Services department has revoked some faith based exemptions. This is seen as a wider roll back of Trump-era religious liberty protections.

Exemptions which have been removed include though protecting religious foster care agencies who refused to work with same-sex couples.

“Our action ensures we are best prepared to protect every American’s right to be free of discrimination,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a press release Thursday. “With the large number of discrimination claims before us, we owe it to all who come forward to act, whether to review, investigate or take appropriate measures to protect their rights. At HHS, we treat any violation of civil rights or religious freedoms seriously.”

Jeff Bezos: Future Humans Won’t Live on Earth

Jeff Bezos has said in the future humans  will live in colonies in space, and that we will visit the earth as a tourist destination. Bezos believes the earth will be like a natural park, protect, and will be visited in the same way we visit Yellowstone National Park today.

Speaking at the 2021 Ignatius Forum, Bezos said, “Over centuries, most or many of the people will be born in space. It will be their first home. They will be born on these colonies, they will live on these colonies. They may visit Earth the way you would visit Yellowstone National Park.”

He argued that, the earth’s capacity for humans is around 10 billion people, but that the solar system could sustain trillions of people and satisfy all our energy needs.

Biden’s Tax Breaks for Local Media Effort to Turn Them to the Left

It has been argued that President Biden’s tax breaks for local media are an attempt to turn them into “leftist versions of PBS or NPR”

House Minority Whip Steve Scalis, said “This is Biden and Dems in Congress helping pay the reporters’ salaries who cover for them,”

Also, Dan Gainor, vice president for free speech America and business at Media Research Center, told FOX Business, “This is insanity. I understand why some on the right support this. The decline of local journalism can hurt communities. But putting it on the federal payroll will only make it worse. Don’t expect reporters to criticize politicians who fund them. And do expect them to write stories that please those politicians,”

Biden Administration Considering Shutting Another Pipeline

As gas prices surge and winter looms, the Biden administration are considering shutting the Michigan pipeline.  The Line 5 pipe is part of a network that pumps 540,000 barrels per day. The petroleum is taken to Escanaba, Michigan.

“They’re planning to power an industrial nation like the United States on solar panels and wind turbines,” Jason Hayes, the director of environmental policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy said, while noting that even the solar panels and wind turbines require “oil, natural gas, nuclear and even coal” to be produced.

“I hope it doesn’t end like this, but where I see it going is unfortunately the same thing that happened in February in Texas: People freezing in their homes,” he said, adding, “Most of the time when it’s extremely cold or there’s a real bad polar vortex situation, typically it’s pretty cloudy and there’s not a lot of wind.”
