FELON ALLEGEDLY PULLS GUN ON SANTA MONICA PIER VISITORS

PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY — A convicted felon from Washington state was in custody Monday for allegedly pointing a loaded firearm at people visiting the Santa Monica Pier.

Officials said that Tony Andre Andrade, 33, pleaded not guilty July 18 to attempted murder, assault with a firearm, evading police, carrying a loaded firearm and receiving stolen property. He was being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility on a bail of $1.23 million.

Santa Monica Police Lt. Jay Trisler said Andrade refused to stop for officers on July 16 just shortly after 1 a.m. after police received a report of a man matching his description pointing a gun at random people. He led police on a car chase along Pacific Coast Highway toward Malibu, eventually crashing near the Ventura County border. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Andrade was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police received a report of a man pointing a handgun at people along the 200 block of the pier. One witness told officers that Andrade pointed the gun and pulled the trigger at least twice, but the gun did not fire. He then fled to a vehicle and left. Officers located the car near Lincoln and Pico boulevards and tried to stop Andrade. That’s when the pursuit began.

A spokesperson with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Andrade has four prior felony convictions out of Adams and Spokane, Wash. for possession of a firearm, theft and possession of stolen property.

His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 1.

BANK OF AMERICA FREEZES GUN MANUFACTURER’S ACCOUNT, COMPANY OWNER CLAIMS

By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr.
January 7, 2013

Bank of America has reportedly frozen the account of gun manufacturer American Spirit Arms, according to its owner, Joe Sirochman.
In a Facebook post dated December 29, Sirochman wrote the following:
“My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms…our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits for further review.
“After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for further review — her exact words were — ‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.’”(emphasis added)
Sirochman also wrote that he told the bank manager that “they have no right to make up their own new rules and regs” and that “[American Spirit is a] firearms manufacturer with all the proper licensing.”
He also noted that he has been doing business with Bank of America for over 10 years, but will now be looking for a new bank.
According to Unlawful News, this isn’t the first time Bank of America has targeted a customer involved in the firearms industry.
McMillan Group International was reportedly told that its business was no longer welcome after the company started manufacturing firearms – even after 12 years of doing business with the bank.

HOMICIDE RATES IN CANADA RISE 7%, FIREARM DEATHS AT LOWEST LEVEL IN ALMOST 50 YEARS AS KILLERS FAVOUR THE BLADE !

“The rate of firearm homicides per 100,000 population has generally been declining since the mid-1970s and, in 2011, reached its lowest point in almost 50 years.”

The Canadian murder weapon of choice is now the blade.

“An increase in stabbings accounted for virtually the entire increase in homicides in 2011,” the federal data agency said.

It said there were 39 more stabbings in 2011 compared to 2010. Overall, stabbings accounted for 35 per cent of homicides, firearms for 27 per cent, beatings for 22 per cent and strangulation for seven per cent.

Lawmakers: ‘Ominous’ video a warning to ATF whistle-blowers after ‘Furious’

There will be “consequences” if you don’t “respect the chain of command” according the the head of the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives).

To Republican lawmakers (Senators Charles Grassley and Darrell Issa in a letter to Acting Director B. Todd Jones) this “could be interpreted as a threat” to possible whistleblowers.

The message is “ominous” and “appears to be … a not-so-veiled threat telling (ATF employees) not to do what they did to expose Fast and Furious,” according to Issa.
