President Donald Trump has ordered that a new group of elected officials who allegedly used their office in a weaponized capacity against him have their security clearances removed. Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, along with the 51 intelligence officials, will have their security clearances revoked.

In mid-October 2020, just ahead of a debate between Trump and President Joe Biden, 51 intelligence officials, including former CIA Director John Brennan and ex-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, signed a letter claiming the recently discovered laptop belonging to Hunter Biden had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” The letter went public on October 19, 2020, shortly after the New York Post published a bombshell report detailing the laptop showed evidence that the elder Biden was involved in his son’s shady business dealings.

Former CIA Director Leon Panetta responded to questions on whether he regrets signing a letter that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation knowing what he knows now by stating, “I think that disinformation is involved here. I think Russian disinformation is part of what we’re seeing everywhere.” And “I don’t have any regrets about not trusting the Russians.
