Millions in US facing heatwave without power after storms – Telegraph.
After hurricane strength storms up the east coast millions have been left without power.
After the storms millions are facing a heat wave, without power. Energy suppliers think it could take up to a week for power to come back on.
The heat wave could also have a serious effect on corn and wheat yields in the midwest. The Midwest is suffering it’s worst draught since 1988. A reduced yield will further push up food prices around the world.
Draught conditions are also being experienced in Asia: around the Black Sea and China. Both regions important for wheat production.
