Immigration over the Mexican border has surged to its highest level in two decades. Biden faced uncomfortable questions over the issue in a press conference.

Biden said that the “way to deal with this problem” is to “deal with the root causes of why people are leaving”. The President also emphasized the vast majority of those crossing the border should be sent back.
