New York is gearing up for fashion week, starting September 6th. We have previously reported on the impact fashion week has on the industry as a whole, and how it influences the lives or ordinary women.
John Galliano, former Director of Fashion for Dior. Galliano has been convicted of anti-semitism.
Fashion week occurs at Lincoln Centre New York, close to the location of the recent deaths in the city: the suicide of a man at the Peninsula Hotel on 5th Avenue, on the 8th August; a man shot by police in Times Square the following day; and the tragic shooting outside the Empire State building. The Empire State building shooting involved a man shooting a former work colleague, who worked in the fashion industry, nine others were injured, the gunman was also shot by police.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors could be trying to legislate that “…everybody must get high”.
If you actually inside city hall, its okay to smoke medical pot. Likewise if you are on the street at a fair, festival or any other outdoor event that occurs on city property. What is not okay is smoking anything else.
Eric Mar, San Francisco Supervisor sponsored this proposal which is being considered in the city.

Study result statistics that some may find shocking about gay and lesbian marriage.
Study #1. Findings from Sex in America: A Definitive Survey, by: Michael, Gagnon, Laumann, and Kolata, cites a study of homosexual male couples, that was conducted by gay researchers.
100% of homosexual couples had experienced infidelity during the first 5 years.
Study #2. Researcher findings based on a telephone survey found “…even committed homosexual relationships display a fundamental incapacity for the faithfulness and commitment that is axiomatic to the institution of marriage…”
Study #3. From Western Sexuality: Practice and Precept in Past and Present Times by M. Pollack that looked at male homosexuality. He found that “…”few homosexual relationships last longer than two years, with many men reporting hundreds of lifetime partners… Even in those homosexual relationships in which the partners consider themselves to be in a committed relationship, the meaning of ‘committed’ typically means something radically different than in heterosexual marriage.”
There will be “consequences” if you don’t “respect the chain of command” according the the head of the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives).
To Republican lawmakers (Senators Charles Grassley and Darrell Issa in a letter to Acting Director B. Todd Jones) this “could be interpreted as a threat” to possible whistleblowers.
The message is “ominous” and “appears to be … a not-so-veiled threat telling (ATF employees) not to do what they did to expose Fast and Furious,” according to Issa.

The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) actually approved a course teaching 25 illegal aliens how to fly planes from a school owned by… another illegal alien. 6 of them actually went on to acquire pilot’s licenses.
Discovery of this was made by local police on a routine traffic stop of the owner.
The illegal alien owner held two FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) pilot licenses, also known as FAA certificates.
Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security, Rep. Mike Rogers finds this “… amazing. We have cancer patients, Iraq War veterans and Nobel Prize winners all forced to undergo rigorous security checks before getting on an airplane,…at the same time, ten years after 9/11, there are foreign nationals in the United States trained to fly just like Mohammed Atta and the other 9/11 hijackers did…”
The message that the former CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) Director General (Michael Hayden) was disturbing.
“Every time you turn the page, it gets scarier,” stated Michael Hayden during the discussion about the threat that a nuclear capable Iran presents to the US.
Former CIA analyst Fred Fleitz, the managing editor for LIGNET indicates that the time for diplomacy has passed. Negotiations with Iran and its nuclear program are “in trouble” and have “no prospect for breakthrough”. Iran continues its desire to “… wipe Israel off the face of the earth.”

Rebels in Syria launched a brazen attack in Damascus this Wednesday. They released a bomb beside a high level meeting of security ministers killing three top regime officials which included Bashar Assad’s (the President) brother in law.
This may signal a change in what now looks like a civil war.
According to US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta the bloodshed is “rapidly spinning out of control” in Syria.
The officials killed (as reported by state run television) include: General Dawoud Rajha, General Assef Shawkat and General Hassan Turkmani.
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee has been trying to fight back against violence in the city by attempting to bring in a “stop and frisk” policy.
He has been under pressure to stop this campaign from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors (specifically Malia Cohen) and civil liberties groups like the Black Young Democrats of San Francisco.
The criticism is that this policy will focus on racial profiling.

Senator Charles Grassley is claiming that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) conducted widespread surveillance on its own ‘whistleblower’ employees who brought forth concerns about some safety issues.
The extent of the surveillance was extremely broad.
It included placing monitoring software on the individuals desktop computers. The data harvested was screenshots “taken every five seconds,” of anything on the monitor screen, all emails sent and received, any network interactions, any informations stored on the computer or printed from the computer and any and all computer keystrokes.
According to the New York Times, the investigation started with only 5 ‘critics’. It grew into monitor 21 employees who were thought to be putting out anything ‘defamatory’.
