To Ward Off Evil Spirits, Man Slathers Vegetable Oil On Headstones

Apparently, spirits have been frequenting the Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, a suburb of San Francisco.

Deepak Sandhar covered approximately 150 headstones with soybean oil because they “were evil”.  Including the oil and according to the Oakland Tribune “Singh also left small plastic figures, pieces of string and ribbons at several grave sites and was seen by grounds keepers moving flowers between headstones.”

Singh was arrested and placed in the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin California.

Tibetan Sand Mandala San Francisco August 16-19, 2012

San Francisco will be “blessed” with the presence of Tibetan Buddhist monks, six of them from the Drepung Loseling Phukhang Monastery located in South India.

They are coming to perform a religious ritual sand mandala in the Asian Art Museum.  They believe it will generate positive effects which will radiate over the whole region by blessing the environment and all living beings.

In previous mandala religious rituals Tibetan Buddhist monks have stated that they are paying homage to the god’s of the underworld.

License To Pimp, San Francisco Documentary, Sheds Light On Strip Club Corruption

Hima B. – Filmaker is in the midst of filming a documentary, her first.  It is called “License to Pimp”.  It is about the sex industry in San Francisco.

Hima, a former stripper, is concerned about the image that the media is portraying of the sex industry.  She states “…  I think a lot of young women have developed a glorified image of stripping… strippers are glamorized in music videos, movies, Playboy. The models in those images are seen as being beautiful, making lots of money and having fun.”

“All girls, even young girls, want to feel sexy; the desire to be appreciated for your beauty is a natural one,”

“I worked in nearly half of the clubs in San Francisco in the 90s… in that time I saw them change from legitimate strip clubs to essentially brothels.”

In the 90’s local strip clubs brought in fees that required dancers to pay to work.

“At first the fee was $5 and then $25, which was okay,” stated Hima “But then it jumped to $200 a night. It immediately resulted in women practicing prostitution in order to pay those fees, and the clubs went right along with it, installing private rooms everywhere.”

Treatment for the Mentally ill Homeless in San Francisco

San Francisco has a large “severely mental ill” population who refuse treatment.

Both residents and tourists have complained about the “mentally ill homeless people” that create havoc, according to city leaders.

For years the city has debated how to deal with them.  A version of a controversial law called Laura’s Law, has been recently implemented.

Mass murder across the street from San Francisco City College about 3 months ago and now the largest college in the state of California, the same San Francisco City College is told to make preparations for closing.

Lesbian Reverend at heart of Presbyterian gay marriage quandary

Jane Spahr, won’t be present at the Presbyterian Church’s legislative body meeting this week where they will discuss whether or not Presbyterian ministers will be allowed to perform same-sex marriages.

Jane Spahr-69, a lesbian evangelist, resident of San Francisco and… a Reverend, has a history of defying the church and for being rebuked by the church court for performing same-sex weddings in California.  She states: “I’m hoping that the General Assembly will be touched by the spirit, and they will see our marriages not as second class but as equal with our brothers and sisters”.

California Senator D-Mark Leno, Proposes Bill to Allow Multiple Legal Parents

A same-sex marriage battleground state is considering an unconventional law which would allow children to legally have more than two parents.

California bill SB1476 is proposed by State Senator Mark Leno, Democrat-San Francisco.  The bill has already passed the State Senate and is awaiting the Assembly vote.

The bill appears to give legal protection for adults to create a radical family, according to Glenn T. Stanton, director of Global Family Formation Studies who is with Focus on the Family.

Fear released by killings in S.F.’s Visitacion Valley

Children’s discussion were darker than usual Monday.  Some of them were talking about the fourth fatal shooting in San Francisco’s biggest public housing development since May.

Police have released few details.  The victim, Jordan Jordan recently became a father.  He was the 39th homicide victim in San Francisco for this year.  Last year there was 50 homicides.

Many local residents say they are scared and are spending time away from their neighborhood and are keeping their kids indoors.

“I’ve never seen it like this, and I’ve been here for over 30 years,” stated Larry Jones, a neighbor of Jordan. “There’s no explanation for it.”

Reverend Amos Brown had been spending time in the neighborhood up to the point of the shooting.  He is the president of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) San Francisco Chapter.

Scientology causing Katie Holmes to leave Tom Cruise

Top news arriving in an overcast morning in San Francisco… Scientology playing a part in the split of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

“It’s quite sad that another Hollywood marriage has failed,” per John Ashbridge, a San Francisco resident.

Per Newser.com, TMZ is indicating that Holmes is worried Tom Cruise will immerse their six-year old child, Suri, in Scientology.  Holmes feels that Cruise will become fanatical in bringing Suri to join the religion which, often, has sparked controversy.

PORN VIEWER JOINS MYSTIFYING SEX HEADACHE CLUB

Over two years, every time a 24 year old bachelor who lived in India watched pornography he experienced such a severe headache that it forced him to stop watching.

Dr. Amy Gelfand, a neurologist at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, says that there are two types of headaches associated with sexual activity.

Sex headaches are a mystery regardless of the type and no one really knows what causes them, says Gelfand.

There are no suggested links between headaches and specific sexual behaviors that have been found in studies by researchers.

The physical and neurological exam results were reportedly normal.

The man was advised to take a combination of different medications which, apparently, are helping.

San Francisco Homeless Youth Trading Sex for Money over Shelter Assistance

Young people in San Francisco who are homeless and exchanging sex for money, drugs and shelter is nothing new, but may not be obvious.  Many work out deals while panhandling.  They are not interested in city assistance.

At about 12:30 a.m. last Friday, Addison Vigil, 20, sat in a grassy patch at United Nations Plaza, two miles away from the Castro. Next to him, about a dozen people were sleeping as workers hosed down the popular plaza.

Being propositioned for sex acts is…”the name of the game, especially if you’re young and you look decent.” according to Vigil.  When he is in the Castro district it occurs “two or three times a day.” Around UN Plaza, though, not as often.

Young people display moderate interest in the services of local nonprofits.  Vigil, when asked if he thought there should be more services offered said “More Feeds” and that people should bring food to him.

Sergeant Chuck Limbert, the LGBT liaison for San Francisco’s Police Department’s Mission Station, that oversees neighborhoods such as the Castro area said “Some of our homeless have a very strong mindset… They just want to be free to do what they want to do.”

San Francisco Crime Dropping, According To FBI Report

According to the FBI, violent crimes continue to drop in 13 of the Bay Area’s 15 biggest cities. Despite economic recession there are fewer murders, robberies, aggravated assaults and forcible rapes.

Crime data professor Alfred Blumstein of Carnegie Mellon University stated that “Everyone exprected them to go up because of the frustration and economic turmoil,” in an interveiw with The Huffington Post.

The annual homicide averages in San Francisco have nearly halved since 2004.  Also, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, Fremont, Concord and Daly City saw violent crime declines of better than 20 percent last year.”

“…Over the past year, the state has shed tens of thousands of inmates… Despite fears of repercussions, the violent crime rate has continued to drop.”

San Francisco Public Defender Jeff Adachi noted that the San Francisco murder solved rate has jumped from about 30 to 80 percent.

Senator Mark Leno introduces bill permitting inmates to ‘self-identify gender’

Mark Leno D-San Francisco, State Senator introduced State Senate Bill 1586 which would mandate the placement of inmates of a transgender nature in opposite sex facilities at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

This law has been dubbed “CeCe’s Law” by Leno and is calling for other states to follow this lead.  Leno states further…“It is time we moved past the archaic notion one’s genitals define their gender, especially in a correctional setting …CeCe McDonald may be a 6 foot 2 inch black man with a full complement of male genitalia on the outside but on the inside there’s a woman who cannot be safely housed inside a male prison”
