According to a recent study released by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, US States with the fewest residents claiming religious participation gave the least money to charity.
However, professor Alan Wolfe of Boston College states that people in those low religious States are more willing to pay higher taxes by trusting the government to distribute equitably to the poor.

Wildfires burned – to the edge of three small northern California towns over the weekend. Thousands of homes are now threatened and residents have retreated to emergency shelters.
“All we can do is pray” said one evacuee Jerry Nottingham.

The British born director Tony Scott jumped to his death off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in south Los Angeles on Sunday 18th August. The director was famous for movies like “Top Gun”, and “Days of Thunder”.
Scott’s tragic suicide appears to have been triggered by the news he had a terminal brain tumour.
Eyewitnesses saw Scott park his car, and jump to his death. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

This is reportedly the largest one day loss of troops in the 10 year war in Afghanistan and it just happens to be Seal Team 6. So, now we are to buy that the men who took out OBL died in a helicopter crash, months after pulling off the raid. Finland are actively drawing up plans for the break up of the Eurozone. Finland’s parliament are reluctant to commit to endless bail-outs, or see a fiscal union thrust upon them.
In accordance with the Finnish laws, any bailouts Finland is part of have to be passed by their national parliament. Therefore, what the Finnish decide has consequences for the whole of Europe.
Floyd Lee Corkins II of Herndon Virginia, has been charged with federal firearms violations and assault with intent to kill.
Last Wednesday, Corkins entered the Washington DC downtown office of the Family Research Council, pulled out a 9-mm gun from his backpack and started shooting.
According to the FBI, Corkins’ stated “I don’t like your politics,” prior to the shooting. After being wrestled to the ground by a security guard, Corkin also said “… it was not about you, it was what this place stands for”, Fox News reported.
Despite Corkin’s apparent attempts to wreak wider havoc, he was unable to get past security at the Conservative nonprofit organization.
The Family Research Council’s website indicates they seek to advance “faith, family and freedom in public policy and public opinion”. They oppose gay marriage and abortion, have lobbied federally on behalf of these issues and have supported Chick-fil-A’s president Dan Cathy and his recent remarks on the gay marriage issue.
Corkins is a volunteer with the DC center for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Community. He also was carrying sandwiches from Chick-fil-A in addition to 50 rounds of ammunition.

Over recent years tensions have steadily heightened between Israel and Iran, as Iran continues to pursue nuclear weapons. It is thought that Israel were behind cyber attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities that slowed the Iranian nuclear program, but failed to disable it completely.
Now Iran have moved their operations deep underground in the mountains of Natanz. Israel are keen to strike Natanz, before the Iranian’s progress in their nuclear program reaches the point of no return.
There are now reports that Israel has told President Obama, if he does not decide on a course of action that will see an end to Iran’s nuclear program by September 25th, then Israel will go it alone.
New intelligence has emerged which seems to show that Iran are much further down the road to building a nuclear bomb than the West had previously thought.
