Impeachment Could be Trouble from the Dems

Leader of the House Nancy Pelosi has been rejecting calls within her own party for months to begin impeachment proceedings against the President. However she may now find herself in a high stakes game with could cost her her job and give Trump a second term.

Now that she has began proceedings failure to deliver will be seen has unacceptable by the radicals within her party. And with the President saying he will release the transcript of his conversation with the Ukrainian President things might very soon turn uncomfortable for Pelosi.

Furthermore the first casualty of any investigation may be Biden himself. If it found that he did use his influence to help his son, it will cost him his chance in the 2020 elections. Even if he has done nothing wrong the appearance that his son has built a highly profitable career free-riding on his VP father’s back will sit very uncomfortable with progressives across the nation.

Will Trump Hold His Nerve With China Over Huawei?

Trump’s policy on dealing with  Xi Jinping ’s China has seen Chinese tech firms placed on an “entry list”. This has stopped US firms doing business with these Chinese firms, and thus hampering their ability to advance Chinese development of AI and machine learning.

However, Trump is keen to strike a trade deal before the next election. This could see him remove Huawei from the entry list, as part of a future deal. This could prove disastrous to the US economy long term.

The next fight is over who controls 5G technology. If Trump holds his nerve US companies have the technology to control the market. However is Huawei accesses US technology they could control the market.

Chief of Staff to Ocasio-Cortez Admit’s Her “Green Deal Is Not All About the Environment

Saikat Chakrabarti

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green Deal” is more about the overhaul of the US economy than it is about climate change. This was the surprise admission made by Saikat Chakrabarti, Ocasio-Cortez’s Chief of Staff.

“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Chakrabarti said to Inslee’s climate director, Sam Ricketts.

“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing,” Chakrabarti added.

The “Green Deal” has some radical left-wing proposals. For example the end of fossil fuels within 10 years, a basic income program, universal health care, and job guarantees.

The proposal also calls for “social, economic, racial, regional and gender-based justice and equality and cooperative and public ownership.”

It has been estimated that the “Green Deal” could cost $98 trillion over a decade.

The Democrates have done away with the requirement that witnesses declare “so help me God,” when giving evidence to Congress.

Republican lawmakers are quick to attack the new procedures, jumping in every time the phrase is omitted.
