The American Library Association has elected City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center librarian and self-proclaimed “Marxist lesbian” Emily Drabinski as its president for the 2022-23 term.
“The consequences of decades of unchecked climate change, class war, white supremacy, and imperialism have led us here,” Drabinski said. “If we want a world that includes public goods like the library, we must organize our collective power and wield it.”
In the UK, the BBC commissioned a report into the portrayal of homosexuals and lesbians on television. The report found that only 50% of the population were comfortable with same-sex relationships within programming.
The report recommends that more programs feature lesbian and gay relationships, as well as suggesting children’s programs should be used to familiarise audiences to same-sex couples.
The study found that heterosexual men believed that there were already too many gay and lesbian people on television, but gay and lesbian people surveyed said they believed they were under represented.
It also suggested that drama was a “powerful tool” to educate people, but that comedy could pose a problem as LGBT people are often the focus of jokes.
Sébastien Lifshitz’s “Les Invisibles” (“The Invidables”) is a documentary about the lives of elderly homosexual and lesbian couples in France. The documentary is released this week at a time France is gripped by the debate about same-sex marriage and gay adoption.
The documentary looks at the lives of gay men and women and how they explored their sexuality through a time that same-sex marriage was not in the public consciousness.
Lifshitz has made name for himself creating gay-themed documentaries. Although he argues “Les Invisables” is not about the national debate in France surrounding same-sex marriage, he agrees his documentary is his contribution to the conversation.
French lawmakers are set to vote on same-sex marriage in a few months time.
California Governor Jerry Brown has signed into law a ban on gay-to-straight therapy which focuses on minors.
This therapy is also called “conversion therapy” which seeks to change a person’s feelings away from an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) orientation.
The American Psychiatric Association says that these types of therapies do more harm than good and cite their research showing those who have been subjected to it have an increased risk of suicide, anxiety, depression and other self-destructive type behaviors.
In signing the law Governor Brown stated “This bill bans nonscientific ‘therapies’ that have driven young people to depression and suicide,”.
New York, NY. “In The Life”, a public television news magazine that focuses on issues regarding LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) content will be closing this December.
“In The Life” claims that they are the only national television program focusing on the “gay experience”. They have been nominated for an Emmy (twice), a Webby, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Ribbon of Hope, the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association 2011 Excellence in HIV/AIDS Coverage, the 2006 Seigenthaler Award for excellence in network television and a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding TV Journalism-Newsmagazine.
According to the interim director Ellen Carton, funding is partly to blame for the closing down of the network.
Floyd Lee Corkins II of Herndon Virginia, has been charged with federal firearms violations and assault with intent to kill.
Last Wednesday, Corkins entered the Washington DC downtown office of the Family Research Council, pulled out a 9-mm gun from his backpack and started shooting.
According to the FBI, Corkins’ stated “I don’t like your politics,” prior to the shooting. After being wrestled to the ground by a security guard, Corkin also said “… it was not about you, it was what this place stands for”, Fox News reported.
Despite Corkin’s apparent attempts to wreak wider havoc, he was unable to get past security at the Conservative nonprofit organization.
The Family Research Council’s website indicates they seek to advance “faith, family and freedom in public policy and public opinion”. They oppose gay marriage and abortion, have lobbied federally on behalf of these issues and have supported Chick-fil-A’s president Dan Cathy and his recent remarks on the gay marriage issue.
Corkins is a volunteer with the DC center for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Community. He also was carrying sandwiches from Chick-fil-A in addition to 50 rounds of ammunition.
Unsurprisingly, San Francisco County data shows the highest number of gay and lesbian couples in California according to demographic census analysis by the Williams Institute.
What may or may not be surprising though, is that California ranks fourth in the nation at 7.8 couples per 1000. First is the District of Columbia at a staggering 18.08 couples per 1000.
SAN FRANCISCO – This last Monday, LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) activists prevented the San Francisco Supervisors Committee from continuing business. That business was to approve a permit for another business to replace a business that shut down 3 months ago.
The problem, the new business is not gay.
The old business, the Eagle Tavern. The Eagle Tavern has been a hub of sorts for the Folsom Street Fair and its openly displayed sensuality. Many politicians hoping to win the gay vote have also made the Eagle Tavern an obligatory stop.
Openly homosexual Supervisors Scott Wiener and David Campos added their agreement.
Study result statistics that some may find shocking about gay and lesbian marriage.
Study #1. Findings from Sex in America: A Definitive Survey, by: Michael, Gagnon, Laumann, and Kolata, cites a study of homosexual male couples, that was conducted by gay researchers.
100% of homosexual couples had experienced infidelity during the first 5 years.
Study #2. Researcher findings based on a telephone survey found “…even committed homosexual relationships display a fundamental incapacity for the faithfulness and commitment that is axiomatic to the institution of marriage…”
Study #3. From Western Sexuality: Practice and Precept in Past and Present Times by M. Pollack that looked at male homosexuality. He found that “…”few homosexual relationships last longer than two years, with many men reporting hundreds of lifetime partners… Even in those homosexual relationships in which the partners consider themselves to be in a committed relationship, the meaning of ‘committed’ typically means something radically different than in heterosexual marriage.”
Google, of Mountain View, California is on a worldwide campaign to “change the hearts and minds” in support of gay rights.
Google calls it “Legalize Love” and they announced it at a Global Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Workplace Summit recently in London. Anna Peirana who is from 429 Magazine, first reported this mission. She describes it as an effort to legalize gay marriage. Google expands this and states their mission is broader and is meant to include every country in its operations. Mark Palmer-Edgecumbe states “It is obviously a very ambitious piece of work”.
For further teaching on corporate missions see prophet.tv.
Jane Spahr, won’t be present at the Presbyterian Church’s legislative body meeting this week where they will discuss whether or not Presbyterian ministers will be allowed to perform same-sex marriages.
Jane Spahr-69, a lesbian evangelist, resident of San Francisco and… a Reverend, has a history of defying the church and for being rebuked by the church court for performing same-sex weddings in California. She states: “I’m hoping that the General Assembly will be touched by the spirit, and they will see our marriages not as second class but as equal with our brothers and sisters”.
After Obama and Biden came out in support of same sex marriage, Republican Presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, clarified his views, saying “marriage is between a man and a woman”.
As the debate continues, pollsters wonder how this matter will impact the election.
We have a President who openly declares same-sex marriage is alright. This would be unthought of a few years ago. It shows that American public opinion on homosexuality has been so programmed by the liberal left, that this appears to be no longer a problem, for the majority of American people.
Is that true, or will this become a major election issue? The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transexual community began to make progress in politics in San Francisco in the 1970’s with Harvey Milk……..
And Hollywood used it’s influence to program the minds of the youth with pro-sodomite imagery. With this level of political endorsement and the continual bombardment of homosexual and lesbian propaganda,……. consider what the attitude of YOUR children will be towards same-sex marriage?
This is why Prophet TV needs to be in key media areas, and why we have established a gateway in San Francisco. We must break the spirit controlling these regions which impact the entire nation and the world.
