Former Mayor of Indiana Pete Buttigieg has dropped out to the race to be the Democratic candidate for the White House. Buttigieg ended his campaign after a poor showing in the South Carolina primary.

“Tonight I am making the difficult decision to suspend my campaign for the presidency,” Buttigieg told his supporters. “I will do everything in my power to ensure that we have a new Democratic president come January.”

Pete Buttigieg, the 37 year old gay mayor of South Bend, has launched his bid to become the democratic Presidential nominee for the 2020 elections. He is entering an already packed field, with 18 other hopefuls. If selected he would become the first openly homosexual man to fight for the Presidency.
