Twitter Take No Action Over Khamenei’s “Eliminate Israel” Post

Twitter has come under fire for not taking any action over Iran’s Khamenei’s post calling for the elimination of Israel. However, Twitter has seen his Twitter account restricted over tweets about law and order in response to the violent protests sweeping America. Twitter has said Trump’s posts “incite violence”. The social media giant has been accused of double standards.

Twitter’s response has been to argue that Iran’s posts concerning the mass genocide of Israel is “foreign policy sabre-rattling”.

“We have an approach toward leaders that says that direct interactions with fellow public figures, comments on political issues of the day, or foreign policy sabre-rattling on military-economic issues are generally not in violation of our rules,” Ylwa Pettersson, Twitter’s head policy for the Nordic countries and Israel, told the Knesset’s Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs, via video-conference.

If a world leader violates our rules but there is a clear interest in keeping that up on the service we may place it behind a notice that provides some more context about the violation and allows people to click through if they wish to see that type of content,” Pettersson replied.

“That’s what happened for the Trump tweet: that tweet was violating our policies regarding the glorification of violence based on the historical context of the last line of that tweet and the risk that it could possibly inspire harm and similar actions.”

UN Investigation Says Killing of Soleimani “Unlawful”

A UN investigation into the killing of the Iranian General Soleimani in January was “unlawful” according to international law.

Agnes Callamard, the U.N.’s special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, stated in her report, which was to be submitted to the to the Human Rights Council on Thursday, “To the extent that evidence points to the U.S. and Iranian strikes being retaliations or reprisals, each would be unlawful.”

State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus asserted, “It takes a special kind of intellectual dishonesty to issue a report condemning the United States for acting in self-defense while whitewashing General Soleimani’s notorious past as one of the world’s deadliest terrorists. This tendentious and tedious report undermines human rights by giving a pass to terrorists and it proves once again why America was right to leave”

The report also saying the attack on Iraqi soil violated Iraq’s territorial integrity. However, the State Department argued that, “The strike in Iraq was necessary to achieve these purposes and, given its limited nature, proportionate to that aim,” The Wall Street Journal added.

The US has said they were acting on intelligence that said Soleimani was planning an attack on US diplomats and military personnel.

Debra Messing Says Kanye West Trying to Steal Black Voters from Biden

Actress Debra Messing has attracted criticism for saying Kayne West is trying to steal away black voters from Biden.

In a tweet from an account that has since been protected, @TheRickyDavila tweeted to Messing: “To be clear, Kanye West is a redhat [sic] wearing MAGA Lunatic, so if he’s wanting to run for the Presidency, it’s probably a plan between [T]rump and Kanye to strip whatever support they can away from Biden as a last ditch effort. That’s what I believe.”

Messing was in agreement and tweeted back, “Absolutely. He’s playing Jill Stein. He’s trying to take you g black voters from Biden. It’s disgusting.

However, Nina Turner, national co-chair of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) presidential campaign responded to Messing with:

You just can’t stop dipping can you [Debra Messing]? Your connotation is racist,” said Turner, who is black.

“1. Black voters are not owned by anyone,” she continued. “Our vote should be earned every election cycle. 2. We can think for ourselves & don’t need your help. 3. Sometimes it’s best to stay out of family business.”

This is not the first time Messing has been accused of racism. Last year she tweeted that any black Trump supporter must be suffering from a “mental illness”.
