  1. It may be of interest to some that in 2008, Hofstra University established the Guru Nanak Interfaith Prize, and as the first recipient of this award, selected the Dalai Lama.

The $50,000 prize, which recognizes efforts at interfaith dialogue, will be presented to His Holiness on November 18, 2008 in India by a delegation including Hofstra officials, the family of Sardar Ishar Singh Bindra, which established the prize at Hofstra, and former Indian Prime Minister I.K. Gujral, a member of the Guru Nanak Interfaith Prize Honorary Committee. The Dalai Lama has agreed to visit Hofstra in the near future. http://www.hofstra.edu/home/News/PressReleases/Archive/032408_GuruNanak.html

  2. Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji[1] (Punjabi: ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ; Hindi: गुरु नानक, Urdu: گرونانک [ˈɡʊɾu ˈnɑnək] Gurū Nānak) (15 April 1469 – 22 September 1539) was the founder of the religion of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus.

The Sikhs believe that all subsequent Gurus possessed Guru Nanak’s divinity and religious authority, and were named “Guru” in the line of succession.

Sikhism is practiced in three ways as taught by Guru Nanak:

Vaṇḍ Chakkō: Sharing with others, helping those with less who are in need
Kirat Karō: Earning/making a living honestly, without exploitation or fraud
Naam Japna: Chanting the Holy Name and thus remembering God at all times (ceaseless devotion to God)

  3. Which God are we talking about hear. The Dalai Lama claims to be god and that is one of his titles, The Sikh’s refer to a god that is at the center of all religions. Islam claims that ALLA is God and the Christians claim that the only true God is the God of the Bible that was manifested in flesh in the person of Jesus. The Bible talks about the god of this world being satan, lucifer, the snake, the dragon who was cast out of the heavens down to earth. The Theosophical Society claims that Lucifer is the true god and Jesus is the devil. Help! I’m confused! And what does this have to do with the location of Tuesday night’s presidential debate? Are these comments moderated?

  4. I know one thing for sure, the Abrahamic religions are the cause for all our wars, so those Gods are definitely false. Why would God hate the homosexuals that he himself created?

  5. Not to sound sarcastic or funny here but Hugh Hefner is certainly looking like reincarnation of a certain false prophet.

  6. This is akin to Saddam Hussein giving away a peace prize. Sikhism was started as a militant religion to stop the Muslim Mughals of India from raping their villages. Devout Sikh men to this day carry a dagger with them as a key requirement of their faith.

  7. Did anybody else notice that the moderator Candy Crowley lied on behalf of the President that he had called the Sept 11 a attacks in Bengazi a terrorist attack earlier than 14 days. Seems like Candy is also another blind Obama lover and even gave him more time than Romney. Candy has been with CNN for many years now and reportedly is a practitioner of tanscendental meditation and is an ethisiastic vegetarian. What spirit is she of? You do the math.

Anybody else notice that Obama has most the black, gay and vegetarian votes in the country.

  8. I watched the debates live with some friends and quietly listened to their reactions on each question. This morning I also got to hear random reactions from people at work. It was shocking to see how everyone was of one opinion: Obama was cool and spoke well. Romney was a bafoon.

Even though the reality is Obama has doubled the national debt, these people had more hope in his policies than Romney -an accomplished businessman.

Romney’s governing of Massachusetts has led to the countries best education system and balanced budget, Obamas governing of Chicago meanwhile has left it a tainted education system, deep debt and the highest crime in the nation, but nobody saw that. And nobody is seeing the same disorder that plagues Chicago plagues the nation today. Maybe the spirit that your leader is of does matter… Just look at the fruits of the previous work (in this case Chicago and Massachusetts) to judge.

Every failure of Obama was blamed on Bush. But the very same people do not blame 9/11 on Bill Clinton’s policies, that also is Bush’s fault. This is blind arrogant double standards.

The Fact is in this debate, both candidates had great promises on what results they would have on the economy if they get elected but neither could explain how they would actually get there. My friends instead of being objective and fair in evaluating all this thought Romney was speaking rubbish and believed that what Obama couldn’t do in the last few years, he would magically do in the next 4 years.

It is like a veil or covering that blinds people from seeing anything right. All they see is that Obama is the cool messiah even though his 4 year record has yielded greater debt for America, no change in unemployment, greater crime and more hatred for us overseas.

This is not about republican or democrat, it should be about putting the right man in position. People only see that they need to vote for the cool black man, regardless of his policies or record. This generation has no discernment- they judge by a persons suit and style of speech, not the character or potential of the man. America I mourn for you day because you have grown fat, complacent and stubborn and want government to be God.

People like this would never recognize Jesus if he walked today or the spirit of God. They will unknowingly always side with the side that is least healthy for them.
